This 1987 Mercedes-Benz 560SL was delivered new to Stateside Motors of Jamestown, New York, and it was registered with two owners in the Northeast before it was acquired by the current owner in California in 2009. Over $30k of work in 2011 by the Mercedes-Benz Classic Center of Irvine included sheet metal repairs to the left quarter panel, paint touch-ups on the front end, and replacing assorted oil seals and timing, cooling, climate control, fuel delivery, and exhaust components. The seats were reupholstered in Palomino leather in February 2025. Finished in Signal Red, the car is powered by a 5.5-liter V8 paired with a four-speed automatic transmission and is equipped with a limited-slip differential, a dark brown soft top, a removable hardtop, silver-finished 15? Gullideckel alloy wheels, fog lights, a Becker cassette stereo, an alarm system, electric windows, central locking, cruise control, and automatic climate control. This R107 shows 82k miles and is now offered at no reserve on dealer consignment with a window sticker, owner’s manuals, service records, a tool kit, a clean Carfax report, and a clean California title.

The car is finished in Signal Red (568) and features a color-matched removable hardtop and a replacement dark brown convertible soft top. Additional exterior equipment includes quad headlights, fog lights, a power antenna, and chrome-accented bumpers and trim. Refurbishments in 2011 included replacing the windshield, rust repairs on the left lower quarter panel, repairing paint chips on the front end, and block sanding and buffing the hood and front fenders.

The silver-finished 15? Gullideckel alloy wheels are mounted with 205/65 Michelin Defender T+H tires that were installed in 2022. The car was factory equipped with power steering, a fully independent suspension, and power-assisted four-wheel disc brakes. The steering damper, drag link, and tie rod ends were replaced in 2017, and the brake fluid was flushed in March 2025. Blemishes on the wheels are viewable in the gallery below.

The bucket seats were fitted with replacement pads before they were reupholstered in 2011, and were reupholstered again with Palomino leather in February 2025. The door sill trim panels, sun visors, right dome light, and heater valve diaphragm were also replaced in 2011. Interior features include a Becker Grand Prix cassette stereo, an alarm system, electric windows, central locking, cruise control, and automatic climate control.

A retrofitted wood- and leather-trimmed steering wheel frames a 170-mph speedometer, a 7k-rpm tachometer, a clock, and gauges for coolant temperature, oil pressure, fuel economy, and fuel level. The six-digit odometer shows 82k miles, approximately 59k of which were added under current ownership.

The 5.5-liter V8 was factory rated at 227 horsepower and 279 lb-ft of torque. Work performed in 2011 included replacing the timing chain tensioner, water pump, thermostat, radiator, coolant hoses, fuel injectors, front and rear crankshaft seals, fuel hoses, and engine mounts. The timing chain and cylinder head gaskets were replaced in 2018, and service in the spring of 2025 included an oil change and replacing the fuel filter. The car most recently passed a California emissions test in June 2025.

Power is routed to the rear wheels via a four-speed automatic transmission and a limited-slip differential. The rear muffler, transmission mount, transmission cooler hoses, and both differential output shaft seals were replaced during the 2011 refurbishment, and the transmission was serviced at that time. A replacement driveshaft flex disc was installed in 2020. Corrosion is visible on portions of the underside.
